Gordon Brown, The Lie, and The Petition
We've had a referendum anyway. And Gordon has seen it.
There was a glorious, simple and delightful petition on the Number 10 website.
"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to resign."
Details of Petition:
"There are many reasons why we might want Brown to resign, but rather than having lots of narrow petitions on this topic (most of which have been rejected), I wanted one for all of us."
Simple and to the point.
His response is not unexpected:
The Prime Minister is completely focussed on restoring the economy, getting people back to work and improving standards in public services. As the Prime Minister has consistently said, he is determined to build a stronger, fairer, better Britain for all.
So, he believes his own publicity, it seems. And then replies in the third person.
But this fairer and better for all rubbish... The man promised us a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
He lied.
He knew, you see, that Blair had lied before him. And he knows that no-one even respects him, especially his own cabinet. He didn't want to heart a resounding no in a referendum. So why would he take notice of the 72,234 of us who signed the petition to tell him to go?
